Transaxle Cut-Away, Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG)

This is a cut-away of a Direct-Shift Gearbox (also referred to as double-clutch gearbox) from an Audi/VW vehicle. It has two main shafts; one for the odd gears and the other for the even gears. Each shaft is inserted into one of the discs of the coaxial clutches. The shafts connected to the clutches can transmit motion mechanically to an auxiliary shaft having the relevant speed-gears.

This cut-away model has been carefully sectioned for training purposes and professionally painted with different colors to better differentiate the various parts. Many parts have been chromium plated and galvanized for a longer life. The model is operated manually by hand crank and mounted on a stand with wheels.
