Nakamura Refraction Tank, RT-100T, with Transformer

This unique designed circular tank is used to assist students in understanding the laws of reflection and refraction for the first time. When light travels from air to water, both refraction and reflection can be observed where the beam crosses. This apparatus lets you measure the angle of incidence of the light beam, as well as all the angles generated as it reflects of refracts.

The transparent water tank is permanently mounted on a stand and has a removable arm carrying a lamp (6V filament bulb). The sharp beam of light produced by the lamp is clearly visible on the graduation of the back panel and can be adjusted to pass through the center of the tank for reliable angle readings. Just fill the tank with water to the marked line and adjust the lamp to any position around the tank.

FEATURES
1. Incidence angle of the light ray can be varied by moving the arm.
2. Reflection and refraction at angles of up to 270 degrees are clearly shown as a ray of light passing through the center of the circular scale.
3. Sealed container prevents water leakage.
