Introduction to pH Measurement

This lab aids kit is an introduction to pH measurement. This kit is a highly graphic and practical introduction to pH measurement. All necessary materials are provided and students use the compact lab aids chemplate rather than cumbersome and expensive glassware. This is one of two lab-aids kits dealing with pH measurement. Students see the effects of acids and bases through the use of five easy-to-use indicators.

This lab activity is essential in order for students to grasp the importance of these two groups of chemical compounds both in chemistry and biology. Not only do students observe the effects of acids and bases on indicators but they must also use their knowledge to measure the biologically important function of respiration. A must kit for all students in life and physical science. Each kit contains enough material for 12 lab groups of 2 students each for 2 classes.

Each kit contains 12 Lab-aids chemplates with a spatula, 1 drop-controlled bottle of phenol red, 1 drop-controlled bottle of phenolphthalein, 1 drop-controlled bottle of bromthymol blue, 1 drop-controlled bottle of hydrochloric acid, 1 drop-controlled bottle of sodium hydroxide, 1 vial of red litmus paper, 1 vial of blue litmus paper, 1 vial of universal indicator paper, 50 student worksheets and guides and 1 instruction manual with MSDS. A refill set is available for consumable items.
