3-D DEMONSTRATION OF THE MAGNETIC LINES OF FORCE

The Magnetic Field Observation Box is the perfect way for students to observe magnetic force fields. Watch the creation of a magnetic field in 3 dimensions in your hand or via on overhead projector. The sealed acrylic box contains iron filings suspended in a silicon oil solution.

When the cylindrical magnet (included) is inserted into the central chamber, the filings immediately align to create a 3-dimensional field. U-shaped magnets and electromagnets can be used on the outside of the box to demonstrate this magnetic principle.

Forget the mess of iron filings and the constraints of two-dimensional representations of the magnetic field. See for yourself the advantages of this portable wonder. Light-up your overhead projector, put this box on top, and get your students involved in deep discussions about the Earth's magnetic field.
